Staff Selection Commission (SSC JE) Exam
Indian Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the recruitment of Junior Engineers (Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical & Quantity Surveying & Contract) for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India.
This SSC JE 2019-20 recruitment will be conducted through a competitive SSC JE Exam. The vacancies are for Group ‘B’ (Non Gazetted) category in Level-6 with a pay scale of Rs 35,400 – Rs 112400/- of 7th Central Pay Commission.

Age Limit for SSC JE 2019-20 Exam:
The age limit for selection of Junior Engineers is up to 32 years as on 01-01-2020. Educational Qualification:
The candidates who wish to attempt SSC JE Examinations for SSC JE 19-20 should have a degree or diploma in a particular engineering stream from a recognized University or Institution as on 01-01-2020.
Exam Pattern:The SSC JE 2019 Examination will be conducted in two stages.
Stage 1 SSC JE exam is computer based test whereas the stage 2 SSC JE exam is conventional (Descriptive type).
SSC JE CBT 1 Exam is an online computer based exam conducted from 30th March to 2nd April 2020. The stage 1 SSC JE 2019-20 exam will be of objective type, for 200 marks with 200 questions. The SSC JE exam duration is 2 hours. The Paper-I of SSC JE19-20 exam will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi.

Negative Marking: SSC JE aspirants should be confident while answering the questions as Negative marking of 0.25 is applied to the wrong answers of Paper I SSC JE exams. Negative marking is not applicable to paper II as it is more descriptive paper.
Calculation Aids: Calculators, Slide–Rule, Logarithm Tables, Steam Tables are allowed for use for SSC JE stage 2 exams only. For stage 1 exam, no such tool is permitted in the exam.

Selection Process of SSC JE 2019 Recruitment
The selection process involves the following stages.
- Online Application
- Issue of call letter / admission certificates – Online through websites of Regional / Sub Regional Office of Commission.
- Stage 1 Exams - Paper I
- Shortlisting of Candidates through normalized marks scored in Paper I.
- Stage 2 Exams – Paper II
- Shortlisting of Candidates based on the performance of paper I + Paper II.
- Document Verification
- Final selection and allocation of Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations will be made on the basis of the performance of candidates in Paper-I+Paper-II and the preference of Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations exercised by them at the time of Document Verification.
