The exam aims to test an applicant’s understanding of the various subjects in Engineering and Technology. Here are some expert predictions looking at the stats of 2013.
The number of GATE applicants is increasing every year. According to a report published in the website of IIT Bombay, a total of 12, 00,728 candidates registered for GATE 2013. Out of this, 9, 84,855 candidates (82.02%) appeared for the exam, and only 1, 36,699 (13.88 %) could qualify the exam with a valid score. The competition was really tough. It may get tougher in 2014, with the number of candidates appearing for GATE increasing every year.
