While making a decision to take up an examination, one can take a shot at what he expects from it, for himself as well for a career path. I divide the choices, as one need to go through a path of discovery on his personal strengths thereby working his best for an aimed career.

Making a decision to write GATE exam is a big one because as we know the stakes are high and the expectations are higher. It needs time, effort, focus, confidence as well as a real load of dedication if one wishes to secure the mark or even get close. The hype in GATE this year could bring mixed signals as the gap is huge with respect to the outcome. The ones who made it obtained a very high score and landed a position for study or job as their earned right and many others did not make the cut. The difference could be because of the greater GATE attempt number, the pressure from the student itself, peers, families and the academic set up is massive to perform well and get the record straight, thereby soaring past all the pit stops. Expectations are going to be there from everyone around a student; I think it matters most on prime factors acquired from the experience.

GATE examination is definitely rated high and this high accreditation is a worked through process of all the academicians from the renowned IITs and the IISc. Since the syllabus tallies with the exam requirement, one can set a standard for himself. Personally, setting a higher standard will help as the candidate can change the target level once he has actually got into the preparation mode. On glimpsing through the syllabus, a student would have a fair idea of the study process; with progression retrospection would help. At this point, one needs to make a thorough decision on whether he wishes to take up a study position at an IIT or aim for a common stream or pick a rare stream or just take up employment. If one aims for the first one, then the effort has to be modulated such that one works through a strategy to break down the paper and gain those high cut off marks or more. Sticking to a stream irrespective of a college will also be tough in terms of nailing the goal. For instance, working towards getting into the EC stream can be highly competitive if one aims for a good college even if the IITs were to be ruled out. Weighing this option by grading the colleges and then working on the exam could perhaps help students relax a little and still find their route to success. Others pick rare streams which can work both ways; it is advantageous for these pupils as the competition is comparatively less but also a huge disadvantage as the student has to carve a niche to make an impression and be heard. Gaining employment is no red carpet walk either, but the student has to acquire only the qualifying GATE score and charm his way through his technical expertise in the interview round increasing his chances.

Knowing where to head is essential as the student can modulate the study and preparation aspects for GATE via a planned organized flowchart.GATE forms the pathway for an engineering mind to excel; showcase his talent on newer grounds of innovation and technology.

GATE exams as the statistics indicate are the most sorted after and high profile tests making careers of engineers. It is a significant as it has gained additional leverage after the scores are now teamed up with for both the employment learning and the classroom learning.
The present situation with GATE is the questions that arise about the conducting body, the number of examinations, the number of times as well as the kind of set up expected. There is much chaos as only the suggestions are flying by. After reading through the different news articles on the above matter, prospective students aiming to take up GATE 2014 need to act fast.

The significant deed that a pupil should focus on is the studying act. Worrying about what could happen will be eased a little if the student gets working on his GATE subject knowledge. The main aspect of the study is to derive an idea of what to study first. Considering the final year students attempting GATE every year, engineering students can contact their seniors. Having notions about the examination and getting acquainted with the real feel of getting through right from the start helps loads of students. Communicating with a mentor also hopes but the comfort level is more with a student who has just got his GATE scores. Minute questions on preparation as well as other intricate details on calming one’s mind helps candidates get a feel of the big day. Reaching out to a faculty for help on the technical level is essential as the same question can be cracked in different ways. Only a mentor who understands the student can teach him the best trick that does wonders for GATE. This way the pupil will save time in trying to learn and master the remaining tricks and focus on other topics as well.

The question pattern or the type could differ based on the career opted for in terms of employment or a Master. Therefore, going through the overall syllabus without concentrating on specific aspects will be helpful. The opinions of students’ state that the pupils’ find the technical interview round tougher now that the competition has been upped with greater number of candidates. With a year to spare, if a student is thorough with all the stream topics, then he can get through the job interview as well. A calculated selective preparation might come handy in the exam but it could blow chances for an interview. It is better to be prepared well than fret later. Worrying and hoping that a certain subject section be eliminated for the exam will no longer be adding to anxiety. This will also improve focus on the information and aid in registration.
GATE exams are the exams that an engineer has to be part of, if he/she intends to get into the race and dash past so as to build his dream career.

GATE is an examination an engineer looks forward to and the scenario looks like more anxiety would be filling in by the year 2014. The significant part of the examination is the value held by the GATE scores whether it is in terms of a study line or a challenging profession.

GATE 2014 would be held every year as early as January or February and the results would be out by mid-march. If a student intends to write the examination for the year 2014, it would be ideal if he delved into the subject as early as now. If one skimmed through the performance and the various facets of GATE 2013 results, many obvious facts point out. To start off, the candidates who were keen on taking up GATE his year was a staggering 11 lakh. The high peak as against the previous years’ is as a result of the GATE score being taken into a consideration for job positions as well. Further, on glancing at the results, there is a drop with reference to the student performance; it is not as high as expected. On drawing back to the main aspects such as the syllabus of GATE and its relevance, the primordial reason for the tough paper is to screen candidates for higher education. The modification of the paper with regard to specific questions on certain impertinent topics is to admit students’ and absorb them into the specialization. Keeping the recent information at hand, there is likely to be more alterations based on the upcoming GATE papers. There is a possibility of taking in students after an initial round of examinations comprising subjects like aptitude, geology or chemistry; only those pupils’ would be taken in who are able to crack the prelude. On securing the qualifying mark, the students would be allowed to pursue the second phase of GATE which excavates the pupil’s interest in the specialized stream. Such division would be beneficial as only the highly motivated pupils’ would work through the set bars and emerge winners, thus filtering the remaining students who’d decide to take up GATE as an afterthought. Further, the examinations for the various streams could be branched out and held on designated dates just like the university examinations. Since the employment sector seeks GATE scores as well, the interest is rising and the concerned authorities might alter the type of questions posed to the student during examination. http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2012-11-13/kolkata/35087384_1_gate-graduate-aptitude-test-job-seekers

As the expectations from the GATE decision making authorities are sketchy, pupils’ most interested in pursuing GATE need to plan a strong strategy so as to ace the exam. The highlight of the study timetable would have to be time management. Therefore, the earlier a student gets on with his structured study; there would be ample time to correct mistakes or improve on the demanding concepts with umpteen questions cited in the earlier GATE papers. Time and practice sets the topper apart; being assiduous adds to the positives. The issue with poor performance roots to unclear doubts in my opinion and therefore a candidate would have to decide to lock in slots to meet with the concerned professor and have them clarified at the earliest. Repeating the learning process will infuse tenacity and the pupils can then have a stress free revision time prior to the exam. These diverse factors would then be nullified and a pupil can perform best to his capability on the big day.

GATE examinations are experiencing waves of exploration. A final word would be out after quite a deliberation and therefore pupils’ ought to be prepared well given the present scenario to be able to scout a radiant future.

IITs are the dream destinations of engineers. They prefer the deemed status and a strong technological area where they can focus their study on. The name itself raises the bar for the candidate and is also of significance as the candidate carries forward the legacy of a reputed educational set up.

GATE 2013 was a tough examination as more companies and multinationals have taken GATE into account alongside IITs, expanding its popularity to newer heights. The recognition a student acquires on cracking GATE is enormous as the proof comes his way in the form of a load of offers from top IITs as well as the PSUs.
The results for GATE 2013 are due mid-march and the cut offs for M.tech study positions come by soon after. A student can acquire a rough idea about the grading ranges based on the previous years’ GATE scores, although the yearly differences linger. It is hard to say if any staggering difference would come by as it depends entirely on the number of candidates taking up GATE, the percentiles acquired and the degree of difficulty for students. Setting a high rank or score as a GATE cut off would simply make it harder for even a good student to gain a position of study in any of the IITs. The reasoning is entirely based on the institutes and they come out with the cut off announcements soon after the GATE results have been declared.

Information is the key to determine the place of M.tech application for any student. Once the results are out, the rush of admission makes it even more laborious and creates additional confusion among pupils; there are instances where they could miss out on openings either due to lack of awareness or as a result of pressure and stress. There are ways to do away with this chaos. The significant thing is to stay calm and be on the lookout for information. A student needs to do his research, time and again so that he does not miss out on any announcements. Further, at this point in time when one is seeking to find required information, he could bump into information on different streams useful to other students. Sharing these links of valuable information is a good gesture as the students can exchange information on a common forum or social websites with access to all engineering students. This way a pupil can take an informed decision and opt for the best IIT/NIT/reputed College coming his way. Another advantage is the access to other less known IIT colleges which prefer students after they have cleared an individual college entrance for an M.tech study. Knowledge of such data will help students who wish to take up higher study but have not acquired a qualifying rank in GATE. Engineers can therefore prefer the higher education sector with ease and work smart at the time of dire need with no room for loss of opportunity.

GATE aspirants can seek advice from mentors and experts with reference to Master admission and close in upon a college of predilection after a thorough inspection and guidance thereby opting for a strong foundation study in one’s engineering career.

GATE examination being one of the colossal exams in the engineering world is a tough one but instills a great deal of characteristics in an individual. It is open to all engineering students in their final year of study. Its benefits have doubled by the year as the stakes are upped. The primary reason for a greater degree of toughness in the exam point of view is to bring out the crucial talent in the field.
GATE exam exclusive for engineers helps turn their professional and personal life around. The exam is set at a top standard which would mean that the pupils have to trudge through a rough path of fixed pattern of study so as to nail the exam with a successful outcome. Aiming to get through the basic mark in GATE and having to achieve a set record demands a lot of hard work and focus. It is this distinction that can bring in a marked difference in one’s life.

GATE is all about the manner in which one chooses to tackle a question in the given span of time. To modulate the thought process, one needs to bring in decorum and look through a completely different perspective of things. With respect to cognitive behavior, there requires a clear distinction between the needs and wants for a student. One has to realize the apparent temptation and segregate it from the real goal of GATE target. This would help do away from the distractions and keep the concentration of GATE preparation on the right conduit.

GATE exam brings in more of a pattern of stringency in a pupils’ lifestyle. Since the exam is not always easy to master, one has to follow through a timetable of planning and strategy. The schedule involves the need for a student to establish the best hours of an individual concentrated effort on learning so that it conserves additional time when the mind is wavering. This also helps a pupil in planning the day alternating with both the study and leisure time. By dividing the time for both activities one would feel less aloof and stressed.
As the day is organized, the student can carry forth this feature even after reaching the goal of taking up a Master in the designated institution. Choosing a direction and working towards it comes slightly easy while aiming for a national level competitive examination like GATE. The mind wanders less and one can make good use of the time resulting in a productive student life. Further, the student life is the time to experiment with the span and choices so that one does not spend too much lengths contemplating on the right track for a compelling professional career.

With more reasons to take up GATE study, one should not hesitate and take it up with utmost conviction and strive to perform well both during the study time as well in the final GATE exam set date. The exam challenges an engineers’ mind and therefore pursuing the exam can be fun and enjoyable where the results can be the most exciting part. This can serve as an eye opener for pupils who can determine the best stream of work or study to opt for after weighing his strengths. The ultimate reason is the big career leap that is made plausible for engineers after GATE has acquired the hot spot in the industry and educational sector.
GATE aspirants are on a rise and it would just be a matter of time before the examination becomes indispensable for engineers.

GATE examination is held once a year giving an opportunity for engineering students to start their preparation early and work through what would be a tougher GATE paper next year. There are umpteen advantages for GATE which a student can benefit from and concoct their career.
GATE conducted by the IITs each year is roughly held in the month of January and February. This gives students ample time to plan a year in advance. With about 12 months at hand, one can strategize to work around the time for both the engineering curriculum as well as GATE. Planning is the fulcrum and perhaps an integration of the study content between either will help boost the knowledge for the latter; one of the difficult examinations of all time.

Once the available time is taken into deliberation, the student needs to take the revised GATE syllabus into account. The common outline states to collate the chief study material; the curriculum is chunky and so a pupil can attempt to analyze the concept chapter-wise or even base it on the mode of difficulty or simplicity and then go ahead to purchase the following study material. This can create a sense of achievement and satisfaction in a student. The significant thing is to make good use of time even if a limited amount is spent for GATE preparation initially until one gets into the groove. Writing anything learnt helps one remember better irrespective of the kind of study content. Making short drafts is a pre-requisite. The draft has to include important formulas, short cuts to crack a question and a pneumonic pattern to aid study better. The study concepts vary from one another and the best way to differentiate them is to label cue words that best describe the specific concepts. Making a note of these quintessential words will help one recollect easier even at the time of revision.

After going through a significant amount of portion, one way of checking progression is to participate in tests; short ones to start with as the results can be overwhelming when one is yet to get into hard core study regime. At this point sharing the study time with an entrusted counterpart who better understands a different section helps as either of them can exchange notes and share ways of having to get deeper into the concept, thus gaining better vision. Alternating individual study with shared study time is a useful means of getting out of a fixed routine and a gateway out of boredom. Involving a mentor early in the study period is effective as the student can continue clarifying doubts and also have them cleared faster; with delay, more students in a class would invade the time of the seasoned faculty for a similar purpose.

Time is valuable and in most cases the main limiting factor; therefore students need a stable plan to execute the task well, even when running short of time. Having 12 months to go through the engineering syllabus, the vital part is to begin now and work all the way through time. Time can be used to learn from one’s mistakes created while studying or attempting questions so that during the revision period, there is no hassle and one can concentrate on the concept thoughts and keep calm. This idea also helps beat the competition with confidence, which is one of the most important qualities necessary in an engineering student aiming to crack GATE examination securing a high score.

With 15 days to go for the first set of papers, tension runs high and the pressure tends to mount up. Engineers have a tough examination ahead with a rising number projecting an inclination towards it. The degree of difficulty is ultimately based on the number of candidates as well as the additional number of PSUs and new IITs as they are bound to utilize a qualifying GATE score to determine the technical quotient of a student.

Any examination can bring in the apprehension but finding the means to fight through the frazzled nerves can help cope up with the situation. There are some ways to help clear the tough times with ease. Additionally it depends on how best a pupil would utilize the known facts and put them to good use. To carry forth any task with contentment, one needs to design a plan. The plan in this case would revolve around the GATE portion and its completion well within the set time. The study material garners the main and sub-topics prescribed in the GATE correspondence material and therefore the strategy is to cover the intricate details of the subjects before being sure of mastering the individual topics. A time table would be handy at this point as time is the limiting factor and needs the entire curriculum to be incorporated. One can decide if he chooses to go from the beginning to the end or if he would like to revise from the back of the prescribed text book so that the learning process speeds up. Paying extensive attention to those topics guaranteed with more questions would be highly helpful and a smarter way of study.

It is natural if a student thinks he forgot the content read even in a span of two days as the entire cause for the misjudgment is stress. Thereby struggling to complete the entire portion would be foolishness; it would add to the drama and create additional chaos. Touching those topics of more relevance would prove effective. Practicing the significant topics would help students score and gain confidence prior to the examination. The refresher guide is extremely helpful in this respect as it displays important formulas and main concepts aiding in reviving the memory in a short span of time. Managing the available time is also important as it would help pupils’ take up more tests which would cover model objective questions. Heavy practice and testing of one’s knowledge so far goes a long way into reassuring oneself of the concepts but with extra clarity. Timed model tests are a supplementary bonus for students as it would help one be prompt with the correct answer whilst eliminating the other choices. These revision tests are very important and are worthy for pupils’ even of last minute study.

Despite the above suggestions to crack GATE, an equally important issue is health. It is vital that one calm down his nerves and diverts all the energy towards remembering the concepts and other formulas. Keeping a cool head will fetch more time, confidence and a positive approach in successfully cracking GATE. Introduction of a slight amount of entertainment and stroll in the timetable could assist in keeping the mind agile. The student mind is a dynamic one and therefore accessories to keep it sharp would go a long way. Reminding one of the fruits of labor at the end of the struggle would serve as a strong encouragement quotient during exam preparation. With many contenders for GATE, the ones emerging with flying colors would prove their place in the economy by welcoming a bright future.

GATE examinations have become the criteria for an entry into the renowned institutes for higher study such as M.tech positions for engineers. There has been debate over the requirements rating a student’s admission. The basis lies in the GATE exam marks card which displays the rank, score, and percentile thus producing the bigger picture. The advantage of the GATE marks card is that unlike other exams it provides the equivalent result for every student; comparative would mean in relation to all pupils who have written the examination on that very day.

GATE provides access to students to the institutes providing M.tech in many disciplines. There have been many ways to reason the deciding factor in gaining admission into IITs and IISc. The exam paper pattern has questions which could be designed easy or tough. Quite frankly, the exam is getting tougher with each passing year. The reasons have been credited to an increasing number of pupils taking part in the exam and of course the increasing number of institutes and PSUs announcing their admissions via GATE. There is no standardized mode of selection criteria for students due to the above variation. It can only be inferred by the pattern followed in the preceding years.

GATE exam which is out of 100 marks is converted out of 1000 and labeled as the GATE score. As the pattern of the paper varies being either easy or difficult, on comparison the same student can get a high or a low GATE score respectively. When it comes to percentile, the students are rated based on the number of exam participants. A drastic increase with each year will therefore produce percentile changes and hence the admission pattern could also bring about changes. The other criterion is the AIR. This scoring does not vary with each passing year in terms of its competency. It seems to be consistent as it rates the student based on his individual effort and is not governed by the candidate number for GATE or any other occurrence. A high rank fetches a direct entry in the top educational institutions and produces an eclectic variety with respect to the discipline. A low AIR will limit the choices and thus increase the level of difficulty to get an admission into a desired institute.

With every passing year, the ranks for selection vary and are announced once the GATE results are published around the 15th of March. The top ranks pose no confusion with the institute of choice while the ones above the score of 400 or 500 have a plethora of choices at their bay. They just need to be aware of their options so they can put their best foot forward and be content with both the institute and programme of choice. An M.tech being a 2 year programme covers intensive theoretical and practical aspect and so a student is to be sure of the selection so as to make a complacent profession career in the forthcoming years.

With close to 45 and odd days left for the start of the GATE online examination, it is revision time and a wise use of the last few days would bring in a high score and therefore a desired choice of professional career.

Examinations are conducted to test the student’s knowledge based on a number of criteria. The most important one pertaining to GATE is application ability. The capability of a pupil to read the question and determine the answer to that question from the given set of choices, within a known stated period of time is judged. The strain builds up for a student on seeing time race by. A coordinated planned solving of the question is necessary towards obtaining points on coloring the right bubble. To get maximum of the bubbles correct, the student should have thoroughly covered the syllabus and practiced timed tests or work after doing away with possible wrong options for the stated question.

As the day’s close in for the examination, it is necessary that the student stays on his/her toes with regard to all tricks and trades of the chosen engineering stream so that it readily eases out tension. Practicing on a variety of application questions also helps maintain composure. There are many ways to rule out stress from the body. It is a necessity that the student sticks to the timetable and carries out the set topic study. Pointers on topics and individual parts of the chapter help in all regard. Revision of those topics at all times helps remember and keep the mind agile. Keeping a check on the memory with any added tricks to solve a question can also help prepare for the examination day.

As we near the exam date, a student needs to help rejuvenate both mind and body alongside maintaining a strict study regime. Taking a short walk or a short run for a designated distance helps regain lost energy and freshen the mind. A healthy diet is a requirement as the student needs to put oneself through a tough examination determining career.

On the day of the examination, a student should remember to carry one’s admit card alongside the stationary. He/she should initially glance through the questions and then act upon the question. The choice of question is also equally important. Being unsure of a question should not hamper one’s confidence. As the examination features negative marking, it is a requirement of a student to make careful choices in marking the right answer. One should remember on entering the examination hall that this exam is timed and therefore not fret over inability to answer any question at any point during the 3 hour schedule. Once, panic takes over he/she will lose focus and thus a chunk of the time is lost in trying to get back on track.

After the examination is done, one should keep a positive approach and not worry about the wrong answers. It is important to aim to get the answers correct and effort in this regard is equally important. Being aware of the fact that GATE is relative could also work in one’s favor. As a general rule, engineers with a high percentile are considered for high positions as the exam tests knowledge versus time management.

Keeping cool on the examination day can work in one’s favor to maybe crack even the tougher questions by means of an ‘educated guess’. Aiming for a high percentile from GATE is a doable target to achieve and one must aim for it to keep the hopes of a satisfying career alive.
